We came in for a standard alignment, paid $280, and left with an alignment so poorly done it damaged a tire within weeks. When we returned to have it addressed, the staff told us the warranty was only two weeks and that it was written in the contract (most places would actually look at the alignment first to make sure their work was up to par rather than point to a warranty). It wasn’t. The contract clearly says 36,000 miles. When we pointed that out—while reading the contract with their staff—they suddenly changed the story and wanted “proof” of the tire issue. We told them the damaged tire was in the trunk and they were welcome to inspect it themselves. They didn’t. A local tire shop refused to work on it, stating the issue was due to a bad alignment. Mind you, this was after we had just installed new tires a month or two prior. Euro Car eventually agreed to re-do the alignment, which clearly means they knew the original work was faulty. But even after the second attempt, the car still pulls. Nothing was actually fixed. The reason I’m writing this and not my boyfriend (who brought the car in) is because after dealing with their rude, dishonest staff twice, he had no interest in going back a third time or disputing the charge. I submitted this review out of pure frustration. I’m not a mechanic, but I do know when a business is trying to dodge responsibility and be sleazy, and Euro Car fits the bill. The staff was condescending, evasive, and unwilling to own up to a mistake that cost us both time and money. To make matters worse, we noticed a disturbing pattern: whenever they get a negative review on yelp, the owner jumps in accusing the reviewer of being fake or part of a smear campaign. It’s sleazy and dishonest. Maybe that’s why their reviews are either glowing 5-stars (probably incentivized with $$$ off your service with a yelp review from what it looks like) or scathing 1-stars from people who, like us, got burned. No middle ground reviews which is always a red flag to me. We live close by and made the mistake of trying to support a business that was in our neighborhood. We won’t make that mistake again, and we’ll be sure to let our friends and neighbors know to steer clear of Euro Car. If you want quality work and honest service, go to Newport Auto Repair instead. They’re professional, straightforward, and they’ll actually fix the issue the first time. Edit: attached the invoice since Tony wants to call my review a scam review.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. As the owner of this shop, I take these concerns very seriously. I’d like to clarify a few points for everyone reading this: We genuinely believe this review might not be legitimate, and we want to publicly question its validity. First, our 3-year/36,000-mile warranty is unmatched by anyone else in the area. If there was ever an issue with an alignment we performed, we would never shy away from fixing it. We would just re do your vehicles alignment and do what we do best in continuing building lifelong relationships one awesome client at a time. Second, it’s nearly impossible for a flat tire to be caused by a alignment itself, unless the tire was damaged by an impact or a separate road hazard. So again, we question the validity of this review as we have never had a 2 week policy on alignments ever in the life of our business. However, if this is a genuine misunderstanding, I invite you to call me directly at (562) 712-1413 — I’m Tony Perez, the owner. I’d be more than happy to talk it through personally and make things right if there’s a legitimate issue. Thank you for giving me the chance to clarify. — Tony Perez Owner, Euro Car Doctor
