I brought my BMW in for the motor mounts to be replaced. They wanted to charge me $221 diagnostic fee. In the parking lot they agreed it was the motor mounts. They called me next day saying my oil drain plug is striped, leaking a lot of oil, when they were doing there so called muilt-point inspection. They wanted to replace it for $3,300. The car didnt leak oil intill i picked it up. It leaks 1/2 quart of oil sitting in my garage now that they striped the plug. Also on there inspection to justify there $220 said I needed to get a oil change and replace the cabin filter after there visual inspection??? I just changed my oil and replaced the cabin filter 2 weeks prior, I have receipts for. This shop lies, they didnt check the oil, cabin filter!! I went in and ask for the print out and the guy deleted the recommended oil change because I showed him the pictures of clean oil. But left the cabin filter change on there. Just the motor mounts and there stupid diagnostics $221, that i already new was $1,973. But now since they striped my oil pan to the point sitting in drive way leaks 1/2 quart i need to get it replaced. This shop is so dishonest, I wouldn't have them replace a light bulb. They would come back saying I need a new engine. Lol stay away from this place The pictures says everything. You look at my car port before you had my car, no oil leaks! And afterwards you see my clean oil pouring out. I know changing the motor mounts has nothing to do with the oil drain plug, so why did you remove the civer of the drain plug, and strip the plug when all i wanted was the motor mounts changed. As far as me showing you receipts the oil and cabin filter was changed 2 weeks prior, shows what type of mechanics you are, just look how clean the oil is. Tony you also printed out I would only have a warranty for the motormounts if I'd paid the $3,600 for new oil pan?? You said when I ONLY wanted the mounts changed id have a warranty for the mounts. I never asked you to touch the drain plug!! Just motor mounts! You're front office, girl the receptions thinks she's an attorney? said "It's a law you have to check the drain plug and do an inspection." You show me that law! Or better I'll show you in court.
Hi Don, Your review contains several serious inaccuracies that we need to correct for the benefit of others reading. When your BMW arrived, we performed a standard multi-point inspection (included in the $221 diagnostic fee you approved) and found the oil drain plug was already stripped and leaking — damage clearly caused by a prior repair shop. This was documented with photos before we touched the vehicle, and we provided a written estimate for the oil pan replacement required to stop the leak. Motor mount replacement does not involve, remove, or even touch the oil pan or drain plug. There is no possible way our work could have caused the leak you saw afterward — it was the same pre-existing condition we identified at drop-off. As for the oil change and cabin filter recommendation, our initial inspection flagged them based on visual checks. Once you provided receipts for your recent oil change, we immediately updated the report to reflect that. The cabin filter remained on the report because it appeared dirty at inspection time, though you declined that service. We stand by the accuracy of our inspection, the transparency of our communication, and the quality of our work. We keep photographic documentation of all findings, and we are happy to share these records again so anyone can see the drain plug damage existed before your vehicle arrived. To be clear, This is exactly why we photograph and document all pre-existing damage before repairs — to protect our customers and our integrity. Tony Perez — Euro Car Doctor
